Hope street market

I am very glad that the hope street market went very well during the weekend. It was not not as good as last time, probably because of more competitions in the market, but I enjoy the bigger places and more customers. I guese everyone make less money than last time, but we have more interaction this time. So it's quite fair. Sometimes it's just hard to please every customer at the same time.
I can't get half day off from my work (horrible boss) so I have to prepare the stall on Sat morning which is quite scared coz you never know what will go wrong at the last minute. Thank god everything was alright. I didn't know we have a board behind us so I have absolutely nothing to put on, luckily nice Natalie from Rebound Book gave me some pins to put on the board so i can hang my bags up!
Then I've met some designer friends like Michelle from Shelbyville, Sarch from Scotatto, Aresa from Mam Mam Design. It's good to see everyone around again and I am pleaed that everyone are doing very well!
Then of course I met famous Kara Smith, who made beautiful handbag; Adrienne who made cute little softies Skurvyz and Splodgez, AND Lyndsay and Kelly White from Made by White.
I also met Sally Jarmaine who made beautiful notebook. I bought two notebooks from her 2 or 3 years ago at Mushu on Crown street. At that time I haven't start making Tamptation or Double H. I just thought "wow, cool notebooks, I wish I can make that one day" And today (well yesterday should be) I can't believe I met Sally in person and cut a rubber stamp for her!! How cool!

Well, Hope street market is very enjoyable! I wish I'll be there next time!

Hope street market ready

phew... finally finished all the stocks for the hope street market. Well, it's not totally finished but that's the best I can do! Having a full time job, teaching and making all these things arn't easy! I actually couldn't believe I can make it this far. Few days ago I thought I won't have enough time to finish all these stuffs.

Maybe working full time is a good thing, it pushes me to do as many things as I can in a short period of time. Seriously I just start painting and sewing some of the bags this week and the notebooks... well, some of the designs I just started it 2 days ago...

Anyway, finger crossed for the market. I heard the weather won't be too good but who knows.... last time it was raining but still there are so many people came to the market!!

Red flower pleated handbag and pouch

This red flower fabric is a very traditional, very old fashion Hakka (a subgroup of Chinese people) style in Taiwan. I've seen this since I was a little kid, mostly are from grandparents' bed linen, pillow cases and comforters.

I was thinking about making a bag using this old fashion fabric would be a great idea, and yes, it is! It looks fabulous!

Size:Approximately 31W x 27H x 10 (base) cm. Straps is 20cm drop. One open inside pocket.Wooden button with loop closure.

18 x 12 x 4 cm. With different flower pattern on each side.

Bah bah sheep tote and pouch set (blue)

This is my very first custom order!!

The set of tote and pouch custom order is from a blogger who keeps reading my personal blog and Suki(Hehe)’s personal blog for a very long time. She never left messages before, till she saw my black sheep tote bag and pouch set I posted on my own blog last time.

She told me she loves sheep so much and has been looking for the sheep-pattern bag for quite a long time but never found one. So then she politely asked me if I can sell her the whole set. That was so encouraging! After communicating with her for more understanding about her needs, she wanted to have the blue-sheep-pattern fabric instead of the black sheep, and everything else remain the same as the black tote and pouch. She’s so nice that she even asked me if that’s too troublesome for me to make another set. Of course not! In fact, I’m more than happy to make a new set for her!

The blue sheep pattern looks very mature and modest, and now the set becomes one of my favorite works!

Bah bah sheep tote bag and pouch

It was my first time to make this kind of big tote bag. The bag is big enough to put everything inside as I love to have everything with me when I go out. After the tote bag was done, the remained fabric is still large enough to make a pouch. So here is the cute little sheep tote bag and pouch set!

I love this little sheep fabric so much, that I even bought 2 yards of every color. It is a little cute but not too cute, a little simple but not too simple, I think it’s good for making bags, and yes, I love it so much after the bag is done!

The red zipper closure, which I think that makes the bag brighter. The zipper took me the whole night to sew onto the bag, since the interlining makes the fabric hard to hand stitch. (Yes, it’s hand-stitching, ‘cause that way the stitches won’t appear on outside of the bag) I was so afraid that the needle would be broken when I sewed it last night. Fortunately, the zipper was done perfectly with my swollen fingers!

The straps are good to carry on the shoulders, and the thick cotton interlining makes the whole bag nice and strong.

Size: 35 (wide) x 29 (high) x 24 (button) x 12cm (base)

Inside of the bag: one zipper pocket and two open pockets.

The pouch also has the thick cotton interlining, and that makes the bag look even cuter. What a fat pouch! Hahaha... :p

Size: 15 (wide) x 12 (high) x 11 (button) x 5cm (base)

first mug

I always want to make some graphic goodies and I think 2008 is the time. Since I don't want to change the brand image of Tamptation, so I will just put all my print out goods at Double H. It's like another product line for me... right now, it's still called tamptation, but maybe later, it will change... i haven't decided it yet.

Here's my first mug
